Family Groups
The family program plays a key role in the overall successful outcome for many suffering from chemical dependency. In most cases, substance abuse is a family problem with it’s roots based in the way that the family members communicates with one another and what type of boundaries family members have set with the person suffering from chemical addiction. We believe that regardless whether the person suffering from chemical dependency remains sober, the family members must learn to understand the nature of the disease of addiction and the behaviors, communications and interpersonal problems that perpetuate substance abuse. The family program of Journey healing Centers offers educational sessions and group counseling in an effort to increase the awareness of family dynamics and how to create a healthy environment where family members are encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings.
